Nursing Home Week at Morton Bakar Center
/This year, Morton Bakar Center in Hayward, CA, commemorated from May 14-20. The theme for 2022 is "Creating and Nurturing Connections." It is a time to celebrate the more than 1.4 million nurses and nursing assistants who work tirelessly to care for our aging population. In honor of these unsung heroes, Morton Bakar Center's interdisciplinary staff hosted a series of activities in teams of 'neighborhoods' with different themes each day to foster connections and have some fun!
Monday's activity was a "Match Me Monday" hosted by the Yosemite neighborhood. Staff members dressed in matching or coordinating outfits in pairs or trios and competed in a three-legged race. The event was a success, and everyone had fun dressing up and racing each other.
Tuesday's Golden Gate Comic-Con theme featured staff dressing up as superheroes, comic book and Disney characters, and other movie stars. The team also got to enjoy a few volleyball games against each other.
On Wednesday, Hayward Springs embraced the spirit of "Hawaiian Day." Staff members donned brightly colored clothing, flowers, and leis. They then competed in a few rounds of musical chairs and the limbo. The festive atmosphere was a welcome change of pace.
On Thursday, the Lake Tahoe team chose "Camping Day," wore their best outdoor gear, and got ready for a day of fun. They roasted marshmallows over a BBQ and played badminton, making it a fun and memorable day.
Friday was a special day for the team! Everyone dressed in their favorite 汤头条app or Morton Bakar Center clothing. Staff received a new Morton Bakar Center jersey honoring their teamwork and unity. They enjoyed a meal together with entertainment from the Morton Bakar Center Eagle mascot and participated in a paper airplane contest.
As the day came to a close, there was a ceremony to "plant and grow" 汤头条app's values, with four trees planted during last year's Nursing Home Week.
The 汤头条app spirit at Morton Bakar Center is something we admire! We appreciate the team's dedication to residents and staff and having such a fun time during National Nursing Week!
