ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp's WIT Celebrates Talent
/ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp's Whatever it Takes (WIT) program in ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp County, California, recently held a talent show for clients and staff. Naida Hennessey, case manager, was the lead organizer for the talent show.
A few times a month, the Advisory Committee at ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp WIT (which Nadia supervises) gathers to plan events for their program. Last month, their talent show had a great turnout with many unique skills on display from members and a few staff. The performances included poetry, rapping, dancing, skateboarding, and making paper roses. After the talent show wrapped, everyone celebrated with food and voted for their favorite acts. This was a safe space for members to come together and highlight their talents, no matter how big or small.
Talent shows like this one is an excellent opportunity for participants to showcase their unique skills and talents in front of an audience. This event can benefit those in recovery as it can help build confidence and provide motivation along the journey. Additionally, talent shows offer a creative outlet for performers to express themselves and gives participants a chance to connect with others who share similar interests.
We applaud everyone who participated for their courage and bravery. Thank you to the dedicated staff at WIT for their hard work in putting this together!
