The Celebration Recovery Picnic Is a Huge Success
/The annual Celebration Recovery Picnic took place on September 24, two years after the outbreak of COVID-19. This year's event was hugely successful, with over 250 attendees and many programs from ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp County, like ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp County AOT, WIT, and STEPS. ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp was this year's agency chair for the planning committee and proud sponsor of the event. The turnout was fantastic, and it was a well-deserved celebration.
The Celebration Recovery Picnic is a free annual event organized by mental health providers, advocacy groups, and educational organizations for their clients, members, and families. It's a fun day with a BBQ lunch and many activities like carnival games, music, face painting, water balloon toss, bingo, and a watermelon-eating contest. This event highlights and celebrates the amazing strength and resilience of those overcoming life's challenges.
Thank you to the hard-working staff members at ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp's ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp County programs for putting on such a positive and fun event. Seeing so many community members come together and support the event was great. From being on the planning committee to serving food and supporting members, everyone played a part in making this community event a success! ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp did a great job hosting toilet paper toss and bingo games this year. We would like to give a special shout-out to our STEPS and WIT programs for having the most members there and to Andre Laughun, WIT's Peer Recovery Coach, for supporting so many WIT members participating that day. Thank you to leadership for supporting your staff in taking part. We are very excited about this community involvement and the positive space it creates.
