Heritage Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a 26-bed hospital providing acute psychiatric treatment licensed by the State of California and Joint Commission accredited. We provide a structured, secure environment in a locked setting for people experiencing a high level of distress with the goal of reducing and stabilizing their symptoms as they work toward recovery.

Program Type: Acute
To Make Referrals: Clients are referred through emergency services providers. We accept referrals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our referral line at 510-915-4977. We cannot accept walk-ins.
# of Beds: 26 beds
Who We Serve: Adults ages 18 and older who are experiencing an acute exacerbation of symptoms of mental illness who require 24-hour supervision and/or assistance with psychiatric recovery.
Services: All services are person-centered with the goal of enhancing an individual’s safety, health and quality of life. Services include, but are not limited to:
Collaborative treatment planning with a recovery focus
Comprehensive evaluation and risk assessment
Symptom management skills training
Crisis planning and prevention
Supportive counseling (group and individual)
Medication administration, education and training
Independent living skills training
Dietary consultation
Discharge planning and linkage to community support
Heritage PHF usual and customary per diem rate: $2,000 semi-private, $2,250 private
Hours of Operation: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
About the Program: Treatment is based on the belief that even during the acute phase of an illness, all people have the potential to rehabilitate and make choices that support their hopes and dreams. Heritage’s program is staffed by a multidisciplinary team that provides assessment, symptom reduction, medication services, discharge planning, and community resources and supports development. We provide an environment where residents have increased control, responsibility and choice to support their ability to build relationships and reintegrate into the community.
